Sunflower Cottage is a romantic self-catering cottage in McGregor, and is one of the oldest and most loved historical houses in the village.
Originally built in the 1880’s, its thick adobe walls, mud floors, reed ceilings and thatched roof are perfect natural insulators against the heat and cold of the Little Karoo. It is situated in a quiet corner of the village, within easy walking distance of the main road and shops and restaurants in McGregor.

Sunflower Cottage is a lovely base for you to explore the beautiful village of McGregor, its history and the surrounding wine lands - or to simply just retreat and immerse yourself in the feeling of a bygone era, where time moves more slowly.
The garden surrounding the cottage is tranquil and peaceful. Listen to the birds and cicadas or explore the many hikes and nature reserves surrounding the village.
McGregor is a quaint, tranquil Karoo Dorpie with stunning views. Old irrigation channels still transport water down the sides of the streets lined with whitewashed cottages.
There are some excellent restaurants for Karoo cooking and home made treats. Explore the art walk of local galleries and potters. Visit the beautiful retreat center. Listen to live music or visit the Saturday market.

Travelling from Cape Town, take the N1 (North) past Paarl, through the Hugenot Tunnel, to take the 2nd traffic light turn off to Worcester.
When in Worcester, follow the signs to Robertson. At the 4 way STOP on the R60 in Robertson, take the McGregor turnoff to the right. Follow this road, over the Breede River and then bear left to McGregor (19km). Then as you enter the village, turn first right into Barry Street.
